Source Package

If you are creating Engagement campaigns, you also have the option to define your Audience depending on which APK Source Package the user has installed on their device.

The need for having this option is because, in some cases, users may have more then one app of the same company. For instance, the same users can use Uber for riders and Uber for drivers, Airbnb for hosts and Airbnb for guests etc.

So when you shoot your Engagement campaigns it needs to be made clear which app you want to target - it cannot be both. The reason been that it we can end up impacting the same user, with the exact same campaign, more than once, causing a bad experience.

To select the source package, all you need to do is to go into the campaign creation flow inside Campaign Management, and in the Audience section, select the name of the source package from the dropdown:

1581

The name of the source packages filling the dropdown is automatically fetched from the SDK - of those apps who already have the DR SDK installed.

The Audience Reach Count will update based on this selection.

For Monetization campaigns this feature is not required because the system will already target only one app by default, the app that is more likely to be the primary app on the users device. Primary app means the app that was the last one to be active, which is, the last one that had any kind of interaction with the Digital Reef data base.
